Word Pyramids

This is the most advanced activity in this module. Before you attempt this activity, make sure your child has acquired all skills in modules 1 & 2 and the non-letter activities in this module. Your child should be able to do the following skills before trying this:

• know all letters of the alphabet and their corresponding sounds

• recognize and create rhymes

• know beginning sounds of word

• identify ending sounds

• blend two sounds together

Now that your child has learned to blend sounds together, they are ready to blend 3 sound together to form words! Using the printables below, have your child practice making the sounds in the pyramid, starting from the top. Each step down the pyramid adds another letter, helping your child practice blending another sound in the word.
