Word Family Stamps

Stamp It Out With Word Families

Understanding beginning sounds in words is critical for beginner readers. Children apply this skill when reading word families and identifying patterns in similar sounding words. This activity not only reinforces skills learned in module 1, but also highlights how easy it is to read words that have the same ending.

Stamp time is Claire's favorite time! She loves working on reading/writing activities if they involve stamps. I do not have to ask her twice. She sees the stamp set and runs to the table! So, why not incorporate it a reading activity? I make all kinds of printables using stamps. These stamps are perfect for this activity! If you do not have stamps, do not worry...You can use the letter magnets, or simply write the letters in the box with a pencil. Just print out the free printable below. Explain that the beginning letter is missing from the word and their job is to stamp the missing letter into the box. Sit back and watch...as your child has a fun time learning!

Here are some letter stamps on Amazon.
